NiRA operates a 3R model of operation, Registry-Registrar-Registrant, NiRA does not register domain names directly.

  • Registrant: A person who has registered at least one .ng domain is called a Registrant.
  • Registrar: Registrars act on behalf of Registrants who wish to register .ng domain names.
  • Registry: Manages Nigeria's Country Code Top Level Domain (hereinafter referred to as .ngTLD).
